Foreword
In the 1990s and we've come up with the crazy idea of Ozit Records and the Deeply Vale anniversary gigs, and video, and this web site. Some of these latter ideas have run out of cash at the moment - others are just gaining speed and momentum! We still have the exhibition display, should we get asked to exhibit it anywhere, and we'd still love to do another Deeply Vale - but we need loads of committed people. In the meantime, Ozit Records have re-released the Body Album on CD, which was recorded partly in Cargo Studios Rochdale, in 1981; Body met Tractor through Deeply Vale in 1976, and together they followed a similar path through the Northern Free Festival circuit. We also distribute Surinder Khabbra's album 'Khabbra' written in part with and produced by Steve Clayton. Another Deeply Vale regular, Pete Farrow introduced to Rochdale and Deeply Vale by Trevor Hyett (formerly of Granada TV) is due to release a CD soon on Ozit Records.
By the way - the name Ozit comes from the heady days of the late sixties and early seventies underground scene OZ and International Times - IT underground magazines, and torchbearers of the Rock'n'Roll life style.

This album is truly killer. I think there's more inspiration in these grooves than any single LP has a right to possess! They have a great sound as well, with lots of layered acoustic and electric guitars, often with thick fuzz. When this LP puts the hammer down, it mows everything flat! Their style reminds me of the great Electric Frankenstein LP more than anything, but this is a purely English band with their roots clearly in the same soil as Led Zeppelin, Clark-Hutchinson and The Groundhogs. Passing on the word to you, this is an essential purchase!
