The EP was recorded live at Daddy's Club in Haarlem. In 1978, Ruud Jansen made recordings with the Alcmar Rock Foundation, featuring: Rob ten Bokum (g), Charles Duyff (dr) and Hein Piscaer (b). With the latter two accompanying him, in 1981, Ruud recorded a single dedicated to John Lennon, who had been murdered the previous year. The record was self-released, since no record company wanted to touch it.

SELFKICK

The Selfkick started in 1965 as The Hotdogs comprising Peter de Leeuwe (d, ex-Moans, to Bintangs, later in Ekseption), Ton de Woude (g), Dick Kuijer (g) and Fred de la Rie (b). In 1966, Wim van Baal took the drum seat. With the addition of art student Yme de Jong on vocals they changed their name to Selfkick, a name acquired from accompanying poet Johnny the Selfkicker during a "Beat & Poetry" tour. Their single "Gosh I'm Your Woman Not Your Wife" was the first freakbeat single by a Dutch band (in 1966 called "freak out"). Next they recorded the theme for the TV show "Zo is het toevallig ook nog eens een keer", but their music was too freaky to hit the charts. Their performances were real "happenings" with smashing up equipment, stage props and action painting by Yme de Jong. The highlights in their career were opening shows for The Pretty Things (1966) and Pink Floyd (1967).

In 1968, Fred de la Rie and Dirk Kuijer left Selfkick to be replaced by René van Zutphen (g) and Ronald Krom (b, ex-Turquoise), but the group split soon afterwards. Of the original members, only Wim van Baal remained active on the music scene, deputizing in bands like The Bintangs and The Binks. Yme de Jong concentrated on his career as an artist, writing an occasional song (like "Cold War Generation Kids" for The Bintangs album, "Genuine Bull").
